Jimmy Kimmel To Host Oscars With Help From Will Smith

Jimmy doesn’t want to have a ‘repeat of last year’s shocking events.’ The 95th Academy Awards will be informed and empathetic, with a few jokes sprinkled in here and there.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just announced the nominees for the 95th Academy Awards, which means America’s biggest televised event of the year is rapidly approaching!

After the events of last year’s Oscars, in which actor, Will Smith, was forced to defend the honor of his beautifully bald wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, the Academy stressed how important it was to find a host that “won’t rock the boat.” Someone who can be a representative for all Americans.

With that being said, the host with the most, chosen for this year’s Oscars…[insert drum roll]… ABC host, Jimmy Kimmel!

Sources close to Kimmel have said that he has no intention of allowing a repeat of last year’s shocking events.

In order to achieve this, Kimmel has asked Will Smith to help him write material and shape his overall performance for the evening.

“There will still be lots of jokes,” Kimmel remarked, “they just won’t be tone deaf or meant to degrade our colleagues in the audience.”

He went on to say that “comedy isn’t a prescription to have a lack of empathy. Last year, things were said, feelings were hurt,” as his eyes welled with tears.

Since news of the collaboration, Will Smith has suggested that although the Academy has forbidden his presence at the annual event, they cannot keep his “creative influence” from having an impact on the evening, saying:

“The Academy made their decision, and I don’t judge them for that. But after the disrespect and ignorance displayed by the host of last year’s Oscars, I think Jimmy understood how important it was that my presence, and my essence, be felt in that room.”

When asked if he’s worried about the duo’s jokes ‘landing,’ Kimmel responded, “my late night show has never been funnier and the ratings have never been higher!”

To which the host was met with a burst of laughter from all reporters present at the time, with one even saying, “yup, he’s still got it!"

Chris Rock did not immediately respond to our request for comment, but sources close to the matter suggest he is working on new material that ‘hopefully’ won’t put his ‘life at risk.’
