Madonna Rumored To Join Cast Of Steven Spielberg’s “The Goonies II”

While most of the original cast is expected to return for the sequel to the ‘80s classic, one role in particular has yet to be filled.

After much anticipation, Steven Spielberg has announced he is ready to bring The Goonies back to the big screen!

The Goonies II: 40 Years Later, will follow Mikey, Chunk, Map and Data as they try to convince their coming-of-age children that there is more to life than playing video games and surfing the internet, according to sources close to Spielberg.

Unfortunately, with such a large time-gap between the two films some of the original cast will be unable to perform in the sequel.

Former NFL player turned screen-favorite, John Matuszak, who played the iconic character Sloth, tragically passed away almost 35 years ago.

When asked how Matuszak’s absence will affect the film, Spielberg replied, “John’s role in The Goonies can never be replaced, but every story needs an unlikely hero — especially one as unlikely as Sloth.”

Although we won’t know who Spielberg has found to replace Matuszak for some time, Jeff Cohen (better known as the actor who played Chunk), took to twitter recently, saying, “Chunk needs his brother like a prayer.”

This led to widespread speculation to figure out who will play the deformed hero that fans have come to know and love.

It didn’t take long for many to connect the cryptic tweet to the pop icon, lady Madonna.

“Her face is perfect,” said a casting agent close with the matter, “she would require minimal prosthetics,” said another.

“Her charm and fiery personality are exactly what the character needs,” they went on to say.

Many have doubted that the sex symbol of an entire generation would agree to play such a role, but sources close with Madonna have said she has ‘dreamt' of working with Spielberg for a ‘long time,’ and that The Goonies is one of her favorite films.

She is also reported to have recently had her plastic surgeon remove some of the botox from below her left eye.

Could she have done it to look even more like Sloth?

Could we be on the precipice of the greatest Spielberg film of all time?
